URL: http://jchemed.chem.wisc.edu/Journal/Issues/2004/Oct/PlusSub/V81N10/p1474.pdf

Abstract: The Old Nassau Demonstration (also referred to as the Halloween Demonstration) is a clock-type reaction that dramatically turns orange, then black. This popular reaction is not allowed in many schools using mercury, however, the Wilkinson Modification offers an option that uses silver nitrate for the mercury chloride solution. Green Chemistry principles encouraged in this reaction are reuse and reclaiming the silver. The traditional demonstration can be viewed at http://jchemed.chem.wisc.edu/Journal/Issues/2004/Oct/PlusSub/V81N10/p1474.pdf
