Title: Ash Creek Intermediate School, Oregon
Abstract: Energy efficiency is one of the building's many pluses. Through passive solar design and state-of-the-art daylighting and electronic controls, the school will use approximately 30 percent less energy than Oregon's energy code requires. Te design committee had a common goal of creating an energy efficient as well as environmentlal friendly school. The project needed to remain with the district's budget and they followed LEED guidelines. The design features passive solar design, wall-mounted radiant hydroponic panels, high efficiency, low emission boilars, operable windows and blinds, light shelves and high efficiency T5 uplights in rooms and hallways. There are other features and the study provides a financial analysis.
