Title: Ridgeview Elementary School, Peoria, Illinois
Abstract: Phillips Swager Associates worked with the design committee from Ridgeview Elementary School to create an "advanced facility for educating our next generation." Green principles incorporated in this process included combinations of glass and translucent panels that allow the introduction of natural light into the gym and commons district. Additionally, the relationship of the building's appearance blends into the surrounding community (both day and night) and runoff is captured to create an educational wetlands on the campus.
