Title: Walking the Environmental Talk, Schlitz Audubon Nature Center's Green Building
Abstract: "Hailed as one of the most environmentally sensitive -- or sustainable -- buildings in the nation, the Center is striving for a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, to be determined later this year. The LEED system awards points for incorporating green building practices, such as natural ventilation, passive solar heating and cooling, daylighting, use of recycled and recyclable materials, reliance on renewable energy sources and a host of environmental impact strategies." They identify some of the green highlights used in the design as well as as single page sustainability fact sheet.
